Bukit Kepong is a town
in the Muar district of Johor, Malaysia. It is located near the Muar
River. The town is infamous for the tragic Bukit Kepong Incident.
Bukit
Kepong Incident was an armed encounter which took place on February 23,
1950 between the Federation of Malaya Police and the communist terrorists
of Malayan Communist Party during the Malayan Emergency. This conflict
took place in an area surrounding the Bukit Kepong police station in Bukit
Kepong.
Bukit
Kepong is situated near the towns of Lenga, Chaah and Labis.
