Tanjung Balau is a
beach town in Kota Tinggi district,
Johor, Malaysia. The beach town is located near
Desaru and Bandar
Penawar.
Tanjung
Balau (Tanjung Balau Fishing Village) is a white sandy beach with blue
horizon and clear turquoise sea. It has chalets with modern amenities is
the one of the main attractions is the Tanjung Balau Fisherman Museum. It
has artifacts and a wealth of materials for the visitors to delve and
understand how fishermen make their living.
Located 5km
north of Desaru, Tanjung Balau Fishermen Museum
was developed by the South Johor Development Authority (KEJORA), as part
of its development project in the fishing village of Tanjung Balau. The
museum that costs about RM1.5 million is built on a 9.7-hectare land in
1992. It has a main building that serves as a gallery, four small rest
areas and a souvenir shop. .
