Changlun is a main border town in Kedah,
Malaysia. It is located in the district of Kubang Pasu, about 42 km north
from Alor Star and 8 km near
Bukit Kayu Hitam. The word Changlun was
originated from Thai "ช้างลง" (RTGS: chang long), which means "fallen
elephant".
The construction of the North-South Expressway passing through Changlun
has enabled the town to enjoy smooth development. Besides, the completed
Changlun-Kuala Perlis Highway
helps speeding the development process of the town as well.
With the
new federal highway, motorists are able to go to important high
educational institutions such as UUM in Sintok, KPM, KMK, KMP, UiTM
Arau, UniMAP
Arau and Polytechnics of Perlis. Motorists
are also advised to use the toll-free federal highway for reach
Langkawi via
Kuala Perlis faster.
