Bagan Ajam is a
township in Seberang Perai Utara, Penang
state. It grew out of the village of Kampung Bagan Ajam which is located
near the coast of Pantai Bersih. Bagan Ajam is traditionally reached from
Butterworth through Jalan Bagan Ajam. Today,
the Butterworth Outer Ring Road (BORR) goes right across Bagan Ajam.
Bagan Ajam
is best known for its morning market, where most residents will be,
especially on weekends. Pantai Bagan Ajam is a beach here that is popular
among the locals. Bagan Ajam and the whole of
Butterworth have gone through changes with construction of the
Butterworth Outer Ring Road.
Among the
prominent buildings in Bagan Ajam include the Thean Hock Keong Temple,
Masjid Jamek Bagan Ajam The Kelab Golf Tentera Udara DiRaja Malaysia
(Royal Malaysian Air Force Golf Club) is located on the north, between
Bagan Ajam and Teluk Air Tawar.
