Beluran is
a town and a district located in the Sandakan Division, in the east
Sabah,
East Malaysia on the island of Borneo. Its population was estimated to be
around 104,484 in 2010.
Beluran
town is located about 88 km from Sandakan town.
Telupid, a sub-district of
Beluran, is located about 100 km from Beluran town. The district of
Beluran was formerly known as Labuk-Sugut.
The population is a mixture of many ethnic groups, with the Tidong,
Kadazan, Dusun and Orang Sungai, communities being the four largest
components.
Bank and
supermarkets are much needed facilities in Beluran, eastern
Sabah, to
better service the varied needs of the people as well as business players.
Pulau Langkayan, which is about two-hour journey by speed boat from
Beluran, become an alternative tourist destination besides
Sandakan.
